The department of social work of N. S. Patel Arts College, Anand was established in the year 2006. The Department shapes the creativity and innovative personality of an individual to develop and to produce ignite minded new blood of nation for social service. The Department aims to help students to develop knowledge, attitude, skills and values apt to the practices of social work profession. The department believes in imparting qualitative and life oriented education by assisting the students for their all-round development. The department makes serious efforts to develop skills related to research, capacity building, policy formulation and planning.

Master of Social Work (M.S.W.)
M.S.W is a two-year, full-time post graduate degree course. The course is divided in four semesters.
The social work curriculum has been dynamic and has kept up with the emerging concern in the era of globalization. The MSW programme is designed to equip students with sound theoretical knowledge about social work, social welfare and development concerns of the marginalized sections of the society and help the students to develop skills and insights into working with people at the individual, group, and community level, and network with other groups and professional working on similar issues. The programme consists of classroom work, which includes lectures, discussions, student presentations, seminar discussions with subject experts. The programme also entails Rural camp (in First year), Orientation visits, Block placement, Study tour (in Second year) and One/two day‘s workshops/seminars.
Along with the study of research subject the students are provided exposure of practical research work. Students are assisted to carry out their research work in different issues and concerns of society in an effective manner. Concurrent and field work under supervision provides opportunities to develop practical skills in fields of professional social work. Students are also placed in various fields like rural, NGO, Hospital and Industry for the field work.
The scope for the MSW students are in Government Organizations, Industry, NGOs, Hospitals, Correctional settings and many other sectors where they can be the productive assets of the society.
MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK-HUMAN RESOURCE (M.S.W.-H.R.)
M.S.W.(HR) is two years full time post graduate degree course in Human Resource Management. The course is designed to develop students in core HR. The wide ranging objectives of MSW-HR are to sensitize students about Human Resource Management, Labour Welfare, Industrial Relations, Organizational Behaviour and Importance of research in HR.
By pursuing this course students can make their career in industries and service sector in various designations of HR.
BACHELOR OF SOCIAL WORK
Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.) is three years full time graduate degree course in Social Work Profession. Students passed 12th in any stream can enrol in this course. The course is designed to develop students to understand the various social issues related to Individual, Groups and Communities. The course helps students to make their career in various public and private sector organizations.
By completion of the course, students can opt the admission in post graduate course such as MSW, MSW (HR), MBA etc. The course emphasized on students to be the good citizens and strives to create employability being social assets.
